Brush Terms of Usage - OUTDATED

The rules below are kept to serve as an archive.

Below are my concerns and rules on my brushes, if you have a question, please post it on this journal.

Before the rules, here is a short list of brush websites which fully cooperate with my brush terms of usage and most other authors terms of usage.

- chezplumeau.com



To use in a deviation / off DA Art
Using my brushes in a Deviation or off the DeviantART website does not require any credit.

Things that would qualify as off DeviantART Art:
- Signatures
- Avatars
- Wallpapers
- Etc.

To use for a public website
Using my brushes for a public website does require credit somewhere on the page. The credit must be visible and must acknowledge one or more of four things:

- My real first and last name.
- My DeviantART username.
- The brush set that was used.
- A link to my DeviantART,

Things that would qualify as using for a public website:
- Banners
- Template images
- Promotional material

Things that would NOT qualify as using for a public website:
- Signatures
- Avatars
- Other artwork not relating to the site in question.

For those who do not wish to show usage

If you do not want to show that you have used my brushes with a link, author name, etc. for various reasons, then i kindly ask that you make a payment of $15 USD to axeraider67[at]mac.com on Paypal as a copyright removal.

To host on another public/private website excluding DeviantART
This is for sites that want to host my brushes for donwload on their websites.
If you would like to have my brush sets available for download, here is what i require:

- An unedited (With the exception of cropping) preview of the brush set in question.
- The name i have given to the brush set (The deviation title).
- An unedited downloadable brush pack. (The pack should not have any brushes that were not in the original!)
- My DeviantART username if the site is non-business related, or my real name if the site IS business related.
- A link to my DeviantART homepage (axeraider70.deviantart.com)

All of this should be present visibly on the same page.

Sites like Rapidshare or Megaupload almost always violates the terms of usage, therefore i don't forbid but i request that you do not use such things to host my files.

To use commercially / Print Submission Policy
Using my brushes commercially would be considered as an Advertisement for a profit-based organization, a DeviantART Print submission, or anything that could give the brush-user possible profit.

To be able to do this, you must email me/note me this information before the commercial item in question is used:
- What it is you're using it for.
- The brush set used.
- Where i can find the commercial item.

In addition, you must also put VISIBLE CREDIT either on the commercial item itself, or on the same page. Credit can be qualified as one or more of four things:

- My real first and last name.
- My DeviantART username.
- The brush set that was used.
- A Link to my DeviantART.

Converting my Brushes
kabocha is currently the master converter for Photoshop version 7. If you would also like to convert them, please note me on the specifications about where and what you are converting them for.

Project-GimpBC handles a lot of Gimp conversions of these brushes. Any others wishing to convert my brushes to Gimp are welcome.

Things i require on the page that contains the download or download link of the converted brushes in question:

Compiling my Brush sets with other sets or with each other
This is for those people who scour the internet for brush sets then take the abr file and copy all the brushes into one big pack then redistribute it.

This is not allowed. Mixing my sets together is not so bad, but you may not mix my brushes with others unless stated otherwise.

This is simply because i want people to get their sources straight, so that if the user likes some of my brushes, they know where to go back and get new ones or other packs.

All packs that exist on or before the date of 7/23/07 are excused from this rule.



Things that would be nice
Now, this isn't required, but it would make my day if you:
- posted a comment in my DA linking to a deviation/off site thing you made.
- put Axeraider70 in your search terms.
- posted a link back to my DA / Deviation in your artists comments.
